Valerie LeBlanc, 85, of Pré-d'en-Haut died Tuesday at Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a brief illness.
Born in Pré-d'en-Haut, he was a son of the late Ambroise and Agnès (Boudreau) LeBlanc. A carpenter by trade, he had also worked as a longshoreman in Halifax.
He is survived by his former wife, Germaine Rancourt; three daughters, Mrs. Pat Betteridge (Pat) of Noranda, Que., Miss Chantele LeBlanc and Miss Yvonnette LeBlanc, both of Montreal; two sons, Gillie of Massachusetts and Claude of Lewisville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A twin , sister, Josette, and three step-brothers, Gillie, Clovis and Ovila, all died previously.
The body is at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook. Funeral mass will be celebrated 7 p.m. Thursday from Notre Dame de L'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
